  • No late fees: We will not charge late fees while your county is in a FEMA-declared disaster area.
  • No negative credit reporting: We will not report negative credit information to the credit bureaus while your county is in a FEMA-declared disaster area.
  • Temporary payment relief: If you're having trouble making mortgage payments as a result of the disaster, we can provide a 90-day* grace period. We will also work with you to see what payment assistance options may be available if you're still struggling at the end of the 90-day period. Call us at 800-552-3000800-552-3000 to discuss your situation.

*Properties usually remain in a federally declared disaster area for 90 days from the date of the disaster, but FEMA may extend that date based on the extent of damage caused by the disaster.

  • Disasters can sometimes cause temporary mail delays. If you're concerned about mail delays, you can make a payment on our website or over the phone. If you are enrolled in Auto Pay, we will continue to draft your bank account as usual. If you need to cancel a payment,  you can call 800-654-4566800-654-4566.

  • If your property was damaged, we recommend:

    1. Call your homeowners insurance agent or company to file a claim and to have an insurance adjuster assess damage to your property. (If your property has been damaged by flooding and you have flood insurance, contact your flood insurance agent or company.)
    2. If you have flood damage and don't have flood insurance, call FEMA at 800-621-3362 or go to DisasterAssistance.gov for help.
    3. Notify us of any damage to your property and follow Midland's instructions for sending and receiving claim funds.
  • If your mailing address, phone number, or email address changes, please update your contact information so we can keep in touch with you about your property. You can update your contact information here or by calling us at 800-654-4566800-654-4566.
